And that’s a wrap! As always, time seems to zip by in the city that never sleeps, but I’ve had so many wonderful experiences and created a lot of incredible memories. I can't wait to come back! Tomorrow we're already heading off to Milan fashion week, which is one of my favorites to be honest! It is definitely going to be a busy week there, with three shows a day and lots of events to attend. So excited! But first, to unpack and see my family. I always look forward to relaxing with them after all the fashion week craziness. Keeps me grounded and refuels me for the next one! I've missed this cutie like cra-zy!!
On this day in New York I had a number of exciting shows to attend, from American icon Tommy Hilfiger to Dutch designer Ilja Visser for Ready to Fish. Everything was magical! With a day full of activities I had to dress not just for the weather, but for work. Changing for each individual thing on the schedule can be a drag and quite time consuming. Who needs the stress? So of course I have to make function and fashion can go hand-in-hand. Bring it on!
I absolutely love how this coat is made of various materials that contrast each other so brilliantly. It makes for such a unique statement piece that warms you right up! There were a lot comments about this look on Instagram, some of you just loved it while others were not huge fans. But it turned out to be a favorite for a number of street style lists online, so this goes to show you can’t please everyone. To be honest, this coat kind of makes me want winter to stay forever if it means I can wear this everyday. Well, maybe not forever, but you know what I mean!
Going from the wide creamy colored (faux) fur at the top to a smooth midnight blue fabric at the bottom, which is hand embroidered with pearl thread to give it a special touch, is really quite elegant. You could wear this coat for any occasion. I dressed mine up with a pair of leather overalls, which gives the look a little more edge and is perfect for my busy day (they were unbelievably comfortable). And to really complete the look, I think that the cute white triangle pouch (holding all my essentials!) was just what the doctor ordered, along with some sky high did gold pointed tip heels. It's important to have fun with your fashion choices, so dress to impress and don't be afraid to take chances A
