Goodbye sunny days and sandy beaches, hello overcast afternoons and wet pavement. It was hard to leave the radiant heat of Dubai and come back to the gloomy winter of the Netherlands, but it is definitely nice to be home. This is my first outfit post after refuelling on the beach and as you might notice the windy grey atmosphere certainly influenced my clothing choice for the day.

Even though the sun is gone, I didn’t want to lose the tranquil comfort of the clothing I wore in Dubai. Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean your daily fashion picks have to suffer, right? A few months back I found this great wool knit maxi dress from Zara. The deep smoky shade was complemented perfectly by the cool painted blues on the walls in the background. To take this sophisticated feminine look to another level, I paired it with little black boots that have stud detailing on the toes, adding a little kick to my outfit. Not only is this ensemble comfortable and versatile, (accessorizing it with a belt, hat, and purse or you could layer it with a cropped leather jacket), but it made me feel confident, like I could accomplish anything. It cheered me up without the beach and sun, making the transition back to winter more appealing. This outfit is a perfect thing to wear to the office, a day out in the city, or perhaps an informal evening with friends and family.

Fun can be had without the sun, you just have to dress for it! A
